Turai aur Moong Dal ki Sabzi

Ingredients

  • **200gm ridged gourd
  • **1 chopped onion
  • **1 chopped tomatoes
  • **1 tbsp of split green gram
  • **1 tbsp of ginger and garlic paste
  • **½ tsp of mustard seeds
  • **½ tsp of cumin seeds
  • **1 ½ tsp of red chilli powder
  • 1 **tsp of garam masala
  • **1/3 tsp of turmeric powder
  • **coriander leaves
  • **salt
  • **oil

Procedure:-

  1. Peel the ridged gourd and cut into small pieces.
  2. Wash the split green gram (moong dal) and keep it aside.
  3. Turn on the flame and keep the pan on gas.
  4. Add 1 tbsp of oil. Heat the oil.
  5. Add mustard seeds. When the mustard seeds crackle, add cumin seeds.
  6. Add chopped onion and cook it for 2 mins on medium flame.
  7. Add ginger and garlic paste. Mix it and cook it for another 1-2 mins.
  8. Add turmeric powder and mix it.
  9. Add chopped tomatoes and mix it.
  10. Add red chilli powder and mix it well.
  11. Cover the pan and cook it for approx. 2-3 mins on low flame.
  12. When tomato is cooked well, smash it with spoon and mix.
  13. Add split green gram (moong dal) and mix it.
  14. Add chopped ridged gourd and mix.
  15. Add salt to taste and mix it well.
  16. Add ½ cup of water and mix.
  17. Cover the pan and cook it for approx. 12-15 mins on low flame
  18. Add garam masala then mix it.
  19. Cover the pan and cook it again for 2 mins on low flame.
  20. Add fresh chopped coriander and mix.
  21. Dal wali turai ki subzi is ready!
  22. Take it out in serving bowl and serve it with hot roti, chapatti, nan.
