Sprouted Moong Appam Recipe
Ingredients-
- 2 cups of sprouted green gram
- ½ cup of split black gram
- 2 tbsp of yogurt
- 2-3 green chillies
- 4-5 garlic cloves
- cumin seeds powder
- coriander leaves
- pinch of asafoetida
- salt to taste
- oil
Procedure:-
- Wash and soak the split black gram for 5-6 hours or overnight.
- Add sprouted green gram (moong) in a grinder jar and grind it coarsely
- Take out grated moong in a bowl.
- Add soaked black gram in same grinder jar.
- Add green chilli, garlic and ½ cup of water then grind it into smooth paste.
- Take it out in the same bowl and mix it together.
- Add yogurt, cumin powder, salt to taste, and pinch of asafoetida and mix it well.
- You can add water as required.
- Add chopped coriander leaves and mix it.
- Make medium thin batter.
- Heat the appam pan and grease the appam pan with oil.
- Add batter in an appam mould with the help of spoon.
- Cook the appam on medium flame until it turns golden brown.
- Flip it to other side with the help of wooden stick or spoon.
- Cook it on medium flame until it turns golden brown.
- Take out the appam in a serving plate.
- Serve the sprouted appam with any chutney or tomato ketchup.
- Enjoy appam 🙂
