Sprouted Moong Appam Recipe

Ingredients-

  • 2 cups of sprouted green gram
  • ½ cup of split black gram
  • 2 tbsp of yogurt
  • 2-3 green chillies
  • 4-5 garlic cloves
  • cumin seeds powder
  • coriander leaves
  • pinch of asafoetida
  • salt to taste
  • oil

Procedure:-

  1. Wash and soak the split black gram for 5-6 hours or overnight.
  2. Add sprouted green gram (moong) in a grinder jar and grind it coarsely
  3. Take out grated moong in a bowl.
  4. Add soaked black gram in same grinder jar.
  5. Add green chilli, garlic and ½ cup of water then grind it into smooth paste.
  6. Take it out in the same bowl and mix it together.
  7. Add yogurt, cumin powder, salt to taste, and pinch of asafoetida and mix it well.
  8. You can add water as required.
  9. Add chopped coriander leaves and mix it.
  10. Make medium thin batter.
  11. Heat the appam pan and grease the appam pan with oil.
  12. Add batter in an appam mould with the help of spoon.
  13. Cook the appam on medium flame until it turns golden brown.
  14. Flip it to other side with the help of wooden stick or spoon.
  15. Cook it on medium flame until it turns golden brown.
  16. Take out the appam in a serving plate.
  17. Serve the sprouted appam with any chutney or tomato ketchup.
  18. Enjoy appam 🙂
