Spicy dry Chicken masala
This chicken recipe is very simple and tasty. Today I am making dry chicken with simple masala which is easily available in our kitchen/ home.
Ingredients
- 250 gm chicken thigh fillets
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 1 tomato finely chopped
- 2 tsp of ginger-garlic paste
- 3 tsp of red chilli powder (kashmiri)
- 1 tsp of coriander powder
- ½ tsp of cumin seeds powder
- 1 tsp of garam masala
- ½ tsp of turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Coriander leaves
- 2 tbsp of oil
Procedure :
- Cut and wash the chicken well.
- Add chicken in a bowl.
- Add ½ tsp of salt, ¼ tsp of turmeric powder, 1 tsp of red chilli powder, 1 tsp of ginger-garlic paste, 1 tsp of lemon juice in the chicken.
- Mix everything well.
- Keep the chicken aside for 30 minutes.
- Keep the pan on flame.
- Add 2 tbsp of oil in pan.
- When the oil is heated, add chopped onion.
- Fry the onion on medium flame until it turns golden in color.
- Add 1 tsp of ginger-garlic paste and mix it.
- Cook it for few minutes.
- Add chopped tomatoes and mix.
- Cook it on low-medium flame until tomatoes become soft.
- Add ¼ tsp of turmeric powder, 1 tsp of coriander powder, ½ tsp of cumin seeds powder, 2 tsp of red chilli powder, and mix it well.
- Cook it for 1-2 minutes.
- Add fresh coriander leaves and mix it.
- Add marinated chicken and mix everything well.
- Add salt to taste, garam masala and mix it well.
- Cover the pan with lid and cook it on low flame for 10-12 minutes.(Don’t add water)
- Open the lid carefully.
- Mix chicken well.
- Chicken releases the water.So we don’t need to add the water.
- Cook the chicken on medium flame until it becomes soft with thick gravy.
- Turn off the flame.
- Mix the chicken well. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
- Serve the chicken in serving plate and enjoy with roti, rice, bread or naan.
Tip:
- If you like curry, you can add water while cooking the chicken.
- If you like thick gravy chicken, don’t cook until gravy disappears.
