Suji Barfi Recipe

Rava barfi is a Indian desert recipe .It is very tasty and easy recipe. It is made with semolina, milk and sugar. We can also make rava barfi for any festival in short time.

Ingredients- सामग्री

  •    1 cup of semolina (सूजी)
  •    1 cup of sugar (चीनी)
  •    1 ½ cup of milk (दूध)
  •    ½ cup f chopped almonds (बादाम)
  •    Pistachios for garnish (पिसता)
  •    cardamom powder (इलायची पाउडर)
  •    few strands of saffron (केसर)
  •    2 tbsp of ghee (घी)

Procedure:-

  1.   Turn on the gas.
  2.   Keep the pan on gas.
  3.   Add 2 tbsp of ghee.
  4.   Add semolina and roast it on low-medium flame until it turns golden.
  5.   Add chopped almonds and roast it for 1-2 minutes.
  6.   Take out the roasted semolina in a plate.
  7.   Add 1 ½ cup of milk in a same pan.
  8.   Add few strands of saffron and boil the milk.
  9.   If you don’t like saffron, you can avoid it.
  10. When milk boils, add sugar and mix it well.
  11. Reduce the flame.
  12. Add roasted semolina and mix it well to prevent the lumps.
  13. Add cardamom powder and mix it.
  14. Cook it on medium flame until it becomes like thick dough.
  15. Grease the tray or plate with oil or you can place the parchment paper in the plate.
  16. Add cooked mixture in a plate and flatten it well.
  17. Garnish with chopped pistachios.
  18. Let it cool down completely.
  19. Cut it with the help of knife into small pieces.
  20. Our tasty and easy rava barfi is ready.
