Paneer Kofta Recipe

Paneer kofta is a delicious and creamy gravy recipe. Paneer kofta curry is one of the popular paneer dishes to make on special occasions & festivals.

   Ingredients

  •    2 boiled and smashed potatoes
  •    150 gm of cottage cheese finely grated
  •    2 tbsp of corn-starch
  •    2 tbsp of fresh cream
  •    1 chopped onion
  •    1 chopped tomato
  •      1 tbsp of ginger- garlic paste
  •       1/4 tsp of turmeric powder
  •       1 tbsp of red chilli powder
  •       1 tsp of coriander-cumin seeds powder
  •       ½ tsp of garam masala
  •       coriander leaves
  •       salt to taste
  •       Butter
  •       oil

Procedure:-

  1.   Take a big bowl.
  2.   Smash the boiled potatoes in a bowl.
  3.   Add grated paneer, ½ tsp of red chilli powder, ½ tsp of coriander-cumin seeds powder, ¼ tsp of garam masala, ½ tsp of ginger garlic paste, salt to taste.
  4.   Mix it well with the help of hand.
  5.   Add 1 ½ tsp of corn starch, fresh coriander and mix it well.
  6.   Make small balls.
  7.   Heat the oil in a pan.
  8.   Place the paneer ball in oil
  9.   Fry it on medium flame until it turns golden brown.
  10.                Take it out on absorbent paper.
  11.                 Keep a fry pan on the gas.
  12.                Add 1 tsp of oil and chopped onion.
  13.                Cook it on medium flame for 2-3 minutes.
  14.                Add chopped tomatoes and cook it for 2 minutes on medium flame.
  15.                Let it cool down.
  16.                Grind it into smooth paste.
  17.                Heat a pan.
  18.                Add 1 tbsp of butter. Heat the butter.
  19.                Add turmeric powder, ginger-garlic paste and mix it.
  20.                Cover the pan and cook it for 1 minute on low flame.
  21.                Add coriander-cumin seeds powder, red chilli powder and mix it.
  22.                Add onion tomato paste and mix it.
  23.                Cook it on medium flame until oil comes out.
  24.                Add water as required and mix it.
  25.                Add garam masala, salt to taste and mix it.
  26.                Boil it. Add 2 tbsp of fresh cream and mix it well.
  27.                Add chopped coriander and mix it.
  28.                Cook it for 4-5 minutes on low flame.
  29.                Turn off the flame.
  30.                Take a serving bowl.
  31.                Place the paneer koftas in a bowl, add curry on it.
  32.                Garnish with fresh cream and coriander leaves.
  33.                Serve the paneer kofta with naan, roti or rice.

Tip:

  1. In paneer kofta, you can add grated vegetables as you like.
  2. You can add rice flour or gram flour instead of corn starch for binding.
  3. You can add cashew nuts powder instead of fresh cream.
