Mix Dal Idli, Dosa and Uttapam

Ingredients

  • ½ bowl of idli rice (or any rice)
  • ½ bowl of urad dal
  • ½ bowl of moong dal
  • ½ bowl of toor dal
  • ½ bowl of masoor dal
  • 3 tbsp of chana dal
  • 1 tsp of fenugreek seeds
  • Salt for taste
  • Yogurt (curd)
  • oil 

Procedure:

  1. Add all dals and rice, fenugreek seeds in a bowl.
  2. Wash it well.
  3. Add 3-4 cups of water and soak it for 6-7 hours or overnight. 
  4. After 6 hours, Drain off the water from the dal.
  5. Add the soaked dal in a grinder jar and add little water.
  6. Grind it into smooth paste.
  7. Transfer the prepared batter in the bowl.

Idli Procedure :

  1. Take the required batter in a bowl.
  2. Add salt to taste and mix everything well.
  3. Add ½ tsp of ENO fruit salt and mix quickly. 
  4. Add water in the idli pan or steamer and keep on the flame.
  5. Grease the idli plates with oil.
  6. Pour the batter in the mould.
  7. Place the idli stand in the steamer and steam it for 12-15 minutes on medium flame.
  8. Turn off the flame and take out the idli plates.
  9. Leave it for 2 to 3 minutes.
  10. Take out the idli with the help of a spoon.
  11. Serve the healthy idli with chutney or sambar.

Dosa Procedure:

  1. Take the required batter in the bowl.
  2. Add 2 tbsp of yogurt, salt to taste and mix well.
  3. Keep it aside for 10 minutes.
  4. Keep the dosa pan on flame and heated well.
  5. Keep the flame low intensity. .
  6. Add a few drops of oil and wipe with paper tissue. 
  7. Sprinkle the water on top of the pan and wipe with paper tissue.
  8.  Pour a big full spoon of batter in the middle of the pan and move the spoon in round circles. Make a thin layer of Dosa.
  9. Pour the little oil around the dosa and cook on medium flame till the dosa becomes brown in colour and crispy.
  10. Lift the dosa from the edges and fold.
  11. Take out and serve.  
  12. Make all dosas in a similar way.
  13. Serve the healthy high protein dosa with chutney or sambar. 

Uttapam Procedure:

  1. Take the required batter in the bowl
  2. Add 2 tbsp of yogurt, salt to taste and mix well.
  3. Keep it aside for 10 minutes.
  4. Cut the onion, green chilli and fresh coriander.
  5. Keep the dosa pan on flame and heated well.
  6. Keep the flame low.
  7. Add a few drops of oil and wipe with paper tissue. 
  8. Pour a big full spoon of batter in the middle of the pan and gently spread the batter to a thick pancake.
  9. Add some chopped onions, green chilli and fresh coriander.
  10. Cook it on medium flame for 1-2 minutes.
  11. Pour the little oil around the uttapam or you can also use butter or ghee.
  12. Flip the uttapam and cook the other side.
  13. Take out the uttapam and serve with coconut chutney, tomato chutney or sambar as well.
