Methi Malai Paneer Recipe

Methi malai paneer is a classic north Indian dish. It is very common in restaurants. It’s very tasty and delicious recipe for any occasion like festivals, party, get-together and so on. It is prepared with paneer (cottage cheese), fresh fenugreek leaves, fresh cream and spices.

Ingredients

  • 250g cottage cheese
  • 1 cup fenugreek leaves
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp of ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp of coriander, cumin seeds powder
  • 1 tbsp of red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp of garam masala
  • salt to taste
  • ½ tsp of sugar
  • 1 ½ tbsp. of fresh cream
  • ½ cup of milk
  • oil

Procedure: –

  1. Turn on the gas and keep the pan on it.
  2. Add 1 tsp of oil.
  3. When oil is heated, add chopped onion.
  4. Saute it for 1-2 minutes on medium flame.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes and mix it.
  6. Cover the pan with lid and cook it for 2-3 minutes on low flame.
  7. Take it out and let it cool down.
  8. Grind the cooked onion and tomatoes into smooth paste.
  9. Add 1 tbsp of oil in the pan.
  10. If you like butter, you can add.
  11. Add ginger garlic paste and saute it.
  12. Add chopped fenugreek leaves and mix it.
  13. Cook it for 2-3 minutes on low to medium flame. Keep stirring.
  14. Add turmeric powder, coriander and cumin powder, red chilli powder.
  15. Mix it well.
  16. Add prepared onion tomato paste and mix it well.
  17. Cook it on medium flame until oil comes out.
  18. Reduce the flame.
  19. Add milk and mix it well.
  20. Add fresh cream and mix it well.
  21. Add water as required and mix.
  22. Add paneer cubes and mix it well.
  23. Add salt to taste, sugar and mix it.
  24. Add garam masala and mix it well.
  25. Boil it.
  26. Cover the pan with lid and cook it for 5-6 minutes on medium flame.
  27. Open the lid carefully and mix it well.
  28. Serve the methi malai paneer in a serving bowl and garnish with fresh cream or grated paneer.
  29. Tasty, creamy methi malai paneer is ready.
  30. We can eat methi malai paneer with roti, naan, rice etc.
