Methi Malai Paneer Recipe
Methi malai paneer is a classic north Indian dish. It is very common in restaurants. It’s very tasty and delicious recipe for any occasion like festivals, party, get-together and so on. It is prepared with paneer (cottage cheese), fresh fenugreek leaves, fresh cream and spices.
Ingredients
- 250g cottage cheese
- 1 cup fenugreek leaves
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 chopped tomatoes
- 1 tbsp of ginger-garlic paste
- 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder
- ½ tsp of coriander, cumin seeds powder
- 1 tbsp of red chilli powder
- 1 tsp of garam masala
- salt to taste
- ½ tsp of sugar
- 1 ½ tbsp. of fresh cream
- ½ cup of milk
- oil
Procedure: –
- Turn on the gas and keep the pan on it.
- Add 1 tsp of oil.
- When oil is heated, add chopped onion.
- Saute it for 1-2 minutes on medium flame.
- Add chopped tomatoes and mix it.
- Cover the pan with lid and cook it for 2-3 minutes on low flame.
- Take it out and let it cool down.
- Grind the cooked onion and tomatoes into smooth paste.
- Add 1 tbsp of oil in the pan.
- If you like butter, you can add.
- Add ginger garlic paste and saute it.
- Add chopped fenugreek leaves and mix it.
- Cook it for 2-3 minutes on low to medium flame. Keep stirring.
- Add turmeric powder, coriander and cumin powder, red chilli powder.
- Mix it well.
- Add prepared onion tomato paste and mix it well.
- Cook it on medium flame until oil comes out.
- Reduce the flame.
- Add milk and mix it well.
- Add fresh cream and mix it well.
- Add water as required and mix.
- Add paneer cubes and mix it well.
- Add salt to taste, sugar and mix it.
- Add garam masala and mix it well.
- Boil it.
- Cover the pan with lid and cook it for 5-6 minutes on medium flame.
- Open the lid carefully and mix it well.
- Serve the methi malai paneer in a serving bowl and garnish with fresh cream or grated paneer.
- Tasty, creamy methi malai paneer is ready.
- We can eat methi malai paneer with roti, naan, rice etc.
