Jeera Biscuits Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups plain flour
- ½ cup butter – 100g
- ½ cup powder sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- 2 tsp cumin seeds
- Pinch of baking soda
- Pinch of salt
Procedure:
- Take a large bowl and put the butter and sugar in it.
- Mix it well with the help of electric whisker
- Whisk until it becomes creamy
- Add flour, cumin, 1 pinch of salt and 1 pinch of baking soda in above mixture and make the dough
- If the dough seems to be drained, add 1-2 spoons of milk and make nice smooth dough
- Keep the dough aside for 5-10 minutes covered with damp cloth.
- Now the dough is ready and we can start making cookies.
- Take the board (Chakla) and spread bit of dry flour on the top of it.
- Then take some of the dough and make the balls (loiya) out of it.
- Then make the circular sheet of 1/2 cm by rolling the balls using rolling pin (Belan)
- Now cut the cookies using cookie cutters or the lid of the bottle or a bowl or glass.
- Put all cookies on baking tray
- Preheat oven at 180 centigrade then Place the cookie tray in the oven. Set the oven timer for 10-12 minutes.
- After 10 minutes, check if cookies are baked properly. If not, bake again for 2-3 minutes until they turn golden brown. Do not overcook.
- Finally get the tray out of oven and let the Cookies cool down. Cookies are now ready.
- These cookies should keep in the airtight container and can be eaten up to 1 month.
