Masoor Ki Dal Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup of red lentils
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 chopped tomatoes
- ½ tsp of cumin seeds
- ½ tsp of mustard seeds
- ¼ tsp of turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp of ginger-garlic paste
- 2 tsp of tsp of red chilli powder
- 1 tsp of garam masala
- Pinch of asafoetida
- coriander leaves
- curry leaves
- salt
- oil
Procedure:
- Wash the red lentils.
- Turn on the gas and keep the pressure cooker on it.
- Add 2 or 2 ½ cups of water in the pressure cooker.
- Add red lentils and salt to taste.
- Close the lid.
- Cook it up to 4-5 whistles on medium flame.
- Open the lid carefully.
- Heat a pan.
- Add 2 tsp of oil.
- Add muster seeds. When the muster seeds crackle, add cumin seeds.
- Add curry leaves.
- Add chopped onion and cook it on medium flame until it turns golden.
- Add chopped tomatoes and mix it well.
- Add ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, asafoetida (hing).
- Mix it well and cook it on low-medium flame until oil comes out.
- Add cooked red lentils (Masoor Dal) and mix it.
- Add water as required and mix it.
- Add salt to taste, garam masala and coriander leaves.
- Mix it well.
- Cook it on low flame for 4-5 minutes.
- Stir it.
- Serve the tasty masoor dal in a serving bowl.
- Enjoy masoor dal with rice, roti etc.
