Lasooni Methi
Ingredients- सामग्री
- 1 bunch fresh methi (fenugreek) leaves
- 10-15 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 medium tomato, finely chopped
- 3-4 dried red chilli
- 2 tbsp of roasted peanuts
- 1 tbsp of roasted sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp of roasted beasan
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Oil or ghee for cooking
Procedure:
- Heat oil in a pan or skillet over medium heat. Add chopped garlic and fry it.
- Add chopped methi leaves and fry it on medium flame for a minute.
- Take out the fried methi in a bowl.
- Add 1 tbsp of oil or ghee in the same pan.
- Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add chopped garlic and sauté until it turns golden and aromatic.
- Add chopped onions and cook until they become translucent.
- Add dried red chilli and fry it.
- Add chopped tomato, salt and cook it for 2 minutes on low flame.
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder and mix well and cook for a few minutes.
- Add roasted besan, peanuts and sesame seeds powder and mix.
- Add ½ cup of water and cook until the oil starts to separate from the mixture.
- Add the fried methi (fenugreek) and mix well. add water as required.
- Cook for a few more minutes on medium flame. don't over cook.
- Serve the Lasuni Methi with rice, roti, or naan.
