Chole Paratha Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup of wheat flour
- boiled chickpeas (cholle)
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 tbsp of ginger and garlic paste
- 1 tsp of red chilli powder
- 1 tsp of garam masala
- 1 tsp of coriander and cumin seeds powder
- 1/3 tsp of turmeric powder
- 1 tsp of cumin seeds
- coriander leaves
- salt to taste
- oil
Procedure:-
- Wash the chickpeas and soak it for approx. 6-8 hours or overnight.
- Boil the chickpeas in pressure cooker.
- Take 1 cup of wheat flour in a bowl.
- Add salt to taste and 1 tsp of oil into wheat flour and mix it.
- Add water and make smooth dough.
- Knead the dough well.
- Cover the bowl and keep it aside.
- Smash the cholle with spoon or smasher.
- Turn on the flame and keep the pan on stove..
- Add 1 tbsp of oil into pan.
- Heat the oil then add cumin seeds and chopped onion.
- Cook the onion approx. 1-2 mins on low-medium flame.
- Reduce the flame.
- Add ginger and garlic paste, turmeric powder, coriander and cumin powder, red chilli powder, garam masala and coriander leaves.
- Mix it well.
- Add smashed cholle and mix it well.
- Cover the pan and cook it for 2 mins on low flame.
- Cholle stuffing is ready for making paratha.
- Take out cholle stuffing in a bowl.
- Take a rolling board.
- Make small lump from dough
- Dust the dry flour on rolling board and roll out into 2 to 3 inch diameter then add cholle stuffing over this rolled poori.
- Close the all sides and Dust the dry flour on rolling board.
- Roll out it 5-6 inch diameter thick paratha.
- Heat the tawa (flat pan) and place the rolled paratha over the pan.
- Roast the paratha on both sides until it turns brown.
- Apply the oil or ghee over the paratha.
- When the paratha is roasted well, take it out in a plate.
- Serve the hot cholle paratha with green chutney or any sauce.
