Eggless Sponge Cake Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups of plain flour
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 250gm condensed milk
  • 1/3 cup of powder sugar
  • 3 tbsp of butter
  • 3 tbsp of oil
  • 1 ½ tsp of baking powder
  • ½ tsp of baking soda
  • 1 tsp of vinegar
  • Few drops of vanilla essence

Procedure:-

  1. Preheat the oven at 180 degree Celsius.
  2. Take a bowl.
  3. Add plain flour, baking powder and baking soda in a bowl.
  4. Mix it well together. Keep it aside.
  5. Take 1 cup of milk and add 1 tsp of vinegar in it.
  6. Mix it and keep it aside. Our butter milk is ready.
  7. Take another big bowl.
  8. Add oil, butter and powder sugar in the bowl.
  9. Mix it well with the help of hand whisker or electric hand whisker until it becomes creamy.
  10. Add condensed milk and mix it well together.
  11. Add milk and mix it well.
  12. Add half amount of plain flour mixture at a time and mix it well.
  13. Make smooth and lump free batter.
  14. Add vanilla essence and mix it well.
  15. Grace the cake tin with butter or place the parchment paper into the cake tin.
  16. Pour the cake batter into the cake tin.
  17. Tap it so that air bubbles come out.
  18. Place the cake tin in the oven.
  19. Bake it for 30-35 minutes on 180 degree Celsius.
  20. Take it out and let it cool down.
  21. Unmould the cake and cut it into small pieces.
  22. Enjoy the tasty soft and spongy cake with tea.

Tip:

  1. You can bake the cake in the pressure cooker.
  2. Remove the whistle and gasket (ring) of the lid.
  3. Add 200-250gm of salt in the cooker.
  4. Place the jali stand or ring and preheat the cooker for 10 minutes on low flame.
  5. Place the cake tin into the cooker very carefully.
  6. Close the lid and bake it for 40-45 minutes on low flame.
  7. After 40 minutes, open the lid
  8. Check the cake with the help of knife or wooden stick.
  9. Place the knife or wooden stick in the center of cake.
  10. If the knife comes out clean, it means cake is ready.
  11. If the knife comes out wet, it means cake is not baked properly.
  12. Then bake the cake for another 5-10 minutes.
  13. You can decorate the cake with whipped cream as you like.
