Eggless Sponge Cake Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups of plain flour
- 1 cup of milk
- 250gm condensed milk
- 1/3 cup of powder sugar
- 3 tbsp of butter
- 3 tbsp of oil
- 1 ½ tsp of baking powder
- ½ tsp of baking soda
- 1 tsp of vinegar
- Few drops of vanilla essence
Procedure:-
- Preheat the oven at 180 degree Celsius.
- Take a bowl.
- Add plain flour, baking powder and baking soda in a bowl.
- Mix it well together. Keep it aside.
- Take 1 cup of milk and add 1 tsp of vinegar in it.
- Mix it and keep it aside. Our butter milk is ready.
- Take another big bowl.
- Add oil, butter and powder sugar in the bowl.
- Mix it well with the help of hand whisker or electric hand whisker until it becomes creamy.
- Add condensed milk and mix it well together.
- Add milk and mix it well.
- Add half amount of plain flour mixture at a time and mix it well.
- Make smooth and lump free batter.
- Add vanilla essence and mix it well.
- Grace the cake tin with butter or place the parchment paper into the cake tin.
- Pour the cake batter into the cake tin.
- Tap it so that air bubbles come out.
- Place the cake tin in the oven.
- Bake it for 30-35 minutes on 180 degree Celsius.
- Take it out and let it cool down.
- Unmould the cake and cut it into small pieces.
- Enjoy the tasty soft and spongy cake with tea.
Tip:
- You can bake the cake in the pressure cooker.
- Remove the whistle and gasket (ring) of the lid.
- Add 200-250gm of salt in the cooker.
- Place the jali stand or ring and preheat the cooker for 10 minutes on low flame.
- Place the cake tin into the cooker very carefully.
- Close the lid and bake it for 40-45 minutes on low flame.
- After 40 minutes, open the lid
- Check the cake with the help of knife or wooden stick.
- Place the knife or wooden stick in the center of cake.
- If the knife comes out clean, it means cake is ready.
- If the knife comes out wet, it means cake is not baked properly.
- Then bake the cake for another 5-10 minutes.
- You can decorate the cake with whipped cream as you like.
