Fafda Recipe
Fafda is an authentic Gujarati snacks recipe. It is very tasty and crispy snacks. Fafda is made with gram flour. I have made fafda with rolling pin, whereas authentic fafda is made with hand. We can enjoy it with evening tea time.
Ingredients
- 2 cups of gram flour
- ¼ cup of oil
- ½ tsp of carom seeds
- 1 tsp of papad khar
- ¼ tsp of turmeric powder
- salt to taste
- Oil for frying
Procedure:-
- Take 2-3 tbsp of water in bowl or glass.
- Add papad khar and salt to taste in water and mix it well.
- Take gram flour in a bowl.
- Add carom seeds, turmeric powder and ¼ cup of oil.
- Mix it well.
- Add prepared salty water and mix it well.
- Make thick dough and knead well.
- Add 1 tsp of oil and knead the dough again.
- Cover the dough and rest it for 30 minute.
- Knead the dough and make small balls.
- Take a rolling board.
- Take a ball and press it on rolling board and make thin strip.
- Remove the strip with the help of knife and keep in the plate.
- You can roll the boll into thin strip and cut it into two portions.
- Make all strips in a similar way.
- Heat the oil in a pan.
- When the oil is heated, place the strips in oil carefully.
- Fry the fafda strips on medium flame until they become crispy.
- Take out fried fafda on absorbent paper.
- Serve the fafda with green chutney or fried green chillies.
- Enjoy the fafda for breakfast or tea time.
