Palak Sev Recipe

Palak sev is really crispy and tasty snacks for Diwali festival and other festivals also. We can eat palak sev for tea time.

Ingredients-

  •         1 cup of gram flour
  •         50gm spinach leaves
  •         5-6 garlic cloves
  •         1 inch ginger
  •         4-5 green chillies
  •         Coriander leaves
  •         Mint leaves
  •         1 tsp of cumin seeds powder
  •         1 tsp of lemon juice
  •         salt to taste
  •         Oil

Procedure:-

  1.   Take a grinder jar.
  2.   Add spinach leaves, coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chilli, garlic and ginger in a jar.
  3.   Add 2-3 tbsp of water and grind it into smooth paste.
  4.   Take a bowl and strainer.
  5.   Pour the spinach paste in strainer and strain it.
  6.   Take gram flour in another bowl.
  7.   Add cumin seeds powder, salt to taste, lemon juice and spinach paste in the gram flour.
  8.   And mix it well.
  9.   If the mixture becomes thin, add 2-3 tbsp of gram flour and mix.
  10. If the mixture becomes very thick, add water and mix it well to prevent the lumps.
  11. Add 1 tsp of oil and mix it well.
  12. Make the lumps free batter. It should be medium, not too thin and not too thick.
  13. Cover the sev batter and keep it aside for 10-15 minutes.
  14. Take a sev maker (murukku maker).
  15. Grease the sev maker with oil.
  16. Place enough dough in the sev maker and close.
  17. Heat the oil in a frying pan on medium flame. Frying pan should have about one inch of oil.
  18. Hold the sev maker over frying pan.
  19. Press the sev maker handle.
  20. When sev comes out, move the sev maker in circular motion slowly and continue to press the handle.
  21. Make two circles and stop.
  22. Fry the sev on both sides on medium flame until it becomes crispy.
  23. Take out sev on absorbent paper.
  24. Make all sev in a similar way.
  25. Our tasty and crispy palak sev is ready.

Tip:

  1.   You can add red chilli powder instead of green chilli.
  2.   Store the palak sev in air tight container and we can eat for 15-20 days.
