Lamb recipe

Ingredients
- 1kg boneless lamb, cut into small cubes
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 large onions, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 2 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- Fresh cilantro, chopped for garnish
Procedure:
- In a large bowl, mix together the yogurt, onions, garlic, cumin, coriander, turmeric, cinnamon, black pepper, and salt.
- Add the lamb cubes to the bowl and mix well to coat the lamb evenly with the yogurt marinade.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
- Heat the oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
- Add the lamb and marinade to the pot and stir well.
- Add the water to the pot and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer the lamb for about 1 hour, or until the lamb is tender and the sauce has thickened.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve the Afgani Lamb with steamed rice or naan bread.
