Daliya Moong Dal Khichadi Recipe

Ingredients

  • ½ cup of wheat daliya
  • ½ cup of split green gram
  • 1 small carrot finely chopped
  • 1 potato finely chopped
  • ½ cup of Beans
  • ½ cup of Peas
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 tomato finely chopped
  • 4-5 green chillies finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • ½ tsp of mustard seeds
  • ½ tsp of cumin seeds powder
  • ½ tsp of turmeric powder
  • Pinch of asafoetida
  • coriander leaves
  • curry leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp of ghee

Procedure:-

  1. Wash the split green gram (moong dal) 2-3 times.
  2. Turn on the gas and keep the pan on it.
  3. Add daliya and roast the daliya for 2-3 minutes on low-medium flame.
  4. Take out the roasted daliya in a plate.
  5. Keep the pressure cooker on the gas.
  6. Add 1 tbsp of ghee.
  7. When the ghee is heated, add mustard seeds.
  8. When the mustard seeds crackle, add cumin seeds.
  9. Add curry leaves, chopped onion and saute it.
  10. Add green chilli and saute it for 1-2 minutes on medium flame.
  11. Add ginger garlic paste and saute it.
  12. Add asafoetida, turmeric powder and mix it.
  13. Add chopped tomato, salt to taste and mix it.
  14. Add split green gram (moong dal), potato, carrot, beans and peas and mix it well.
  15. Saute it for 1 minute on low flame.
  16. Add roasted daliya and mix it well.
  17. Add 2 ½ cups of water and mix it.
  18. Add chopped fresh coriander and mix it well.
  19. Close the pressure cooker lid.
  20. Cook it up to 3 whistles on medium flame.
  21. Release the pressure cooker steam.
  22. Open the lid carefully.
  23. Mix it well.
  24. Our tasty and healthy moong dal daliya khichadi is ready to serve.
  25. Serve the moong dal daliya khichadi in a serving plate.
  26. Pour 1 tsp of ghee on top of the khichadi and eat.
