Daliya Moong Dal Khichadi Recipe
Ingredients
- ½ cup of wheat daliya
- ½ cup of split green gram
- 1 small carrot finely chopped
- 1 potato finely chopped
- ½ cup of Beans
- ½ cup of Peas
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 1 tomato finely chopped
- 4-5 green chillies finely chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- ½ tsp of mustard seeds
- ½ tsp of cumin seeds powder
- ½ tsp of turmeric powder
- Pinch of asafoetida
- coriander leaves
- curry leaves
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp of ghee
Procedure:-
- Wash the split green gram (moong dal) 2-3 times.
- Turn on the gas and keep the pan on it.
- Add daliya and roast the daliya for 2-3 minutes on low-medium flame.
- Take out the roasted daliya in a plate.
- Keep the pressure cooker on the gas.
- Add 1 tbsp of ghee.
- When the ghee is heated, add mustard seeds.
- When the mustard seeds crackle, add cumin seeds.
- Add curry leaves, chopped onion and saute it.
- Add green chilli and saute it for 1-2 minutes on medium flame.
- Add ginger garlic paste and saute it.
- Add asafoetida, turmeric powder and mix it.
- Add chopped tomato, salt to taste and mix it.
- Add split green gram (moong dal), potato, carrot, beans and peas and mix it well.
- Saute it for 1 minute on low flame.
- Add roasted daliya and mix it well.
- Add 2 ½ cups of water and mix it.
- Add chopped fresh coriander and mix it well.
- Close the pressure cooker lid.
- Cook it up to 3 whistles on medium flame.
- Release the pressure cooker steam.
- Open the lid carefully.
- Mix it well.
- Our tasty and healthy moong dal daliya khichadi is ready to serve.
- Serve the moong dal daliya khichadi in a serving plate.
- Pour 1 tsp of ghee on top of the khichadi and eat.
