Bharwa Karela With Curry Recipe
Ingredients
- 2-3 bitter gourd
- ½ cup of roasted peanut
- dry coconut as required
- 4-5 garlic cloves
- 1 inch ginger
- ¼ tsp of turmeric powder
- 1 ½ tsp of red chilli powder
- 1 tsp of garam Masala
- cumin seeds
- 1 tbsp of tamarind juice
- jaggery
- coriander leaves
- salt to taste
- oil
Procedure:-
- Wash and cut the bitter gourd into small pieces measuring 2 inches.
- Then cut from one side only.
- Remove the seeds.
- Add enough water and 1 tsp of salt in a big bowl.
- Add cut bitter gourd pieces in this salty water.
- Keep it aside for 10 minutes.
- Take a grinder jar.
- Add roasted peanut, ginger, garlic, coriander leaves and dry coconut in a grinder jar and grind it into smooth mixture.
- You can add water and grind it.
- Heat a pan and add 1 tbsp of oil.
- Add cumin seeds.
- When the cumin seeds crackle, add grated masala and mix it.
- Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt to taste and mix it.
- Add ½ cup of water and mix it.
- Cook it on medium flame until oil comes out.
- Keep the low flame.
- Add cooked masala into cut bitter gourd with the help of spoon.
- Put this stuffed bitter gourd aside in the same pan.
- In same way, stuff all bitter gourds.
- Mix it gently.
- Add required water for cooking and mix.
- Add garam masala and mix it.
- Cover the pan and cook it for 10-12 minutes on low flame.
- Bharwa karela is ready to eat.
- Take out the bharwa karela in a serving plate.
- Enjoy the bharwa karela with roti, naan.
