Balushahi Recipe
Balushahi is a very tasty and juicy recipe. Balushahi is a very popular sweet recipe in India, Nepal, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Balushahi is usually made during festival season like Diwali, Holi. Main ingredients of Balushahi are all purpose flour, Sugar, Ghee and curd.
Ingredients- सामग्री
- 1 cup of plain flour (मैदा)
- 2 tbsp of ghee (घी)
- ½ cup of yogurt (दही)
- ½ tsp of baking soda (बेकिंग सोडा)
- Pinch of baking powder (बेकिंग पाउडर)
- saffron (केसर)
- 1 cup of sugar (चीनी)
- Chopped dry fruits for garnish (ड्राई फ्रुट)
- Oil / Ghee for frying (तेल/ घी)
Procedure:-
- Take a big bowl.
- Add plain flour in a bowl.
- Add baking soda, baking powder and mix it well.
- Add ghee and mix it well.
- Rub it well with hand.
- Add yogurt and mix it.
- Add required water and make dough but make dough gently.
- Take small amount of dough and make a ball. Press in the center with the help of finger.
- Make all balls in similar way.
- Turn on gas and keep pan on gas for making sugar syrup.
- Add ½ cup of water and 1 cup of sugar in a pan.
- Boil it and make single thread consistency syrup.
- When the sugar syrup is ready, add soaked saffron and mix it.
- Turn off the flame and keep it aside.
- Heat the oil in fry pan. (Don’t overheat).
- Add balushahi ball and fry it on low flame until it turns golden brown.
- Take out fried ball and dip it into the sugar syrup.
- Keep the balushahi in sugar syrup for 2-3 minutes.
- Take out the balushahi in a plate.
- Garnish with chopped dry fruits.
