Lapsi Recipe
Ingredients- सामग्री
- 1 cup of broken wheat (Lapsi – लापशी)
- 1 cup of grated jaggery (गुड़)
- 2 tbsp of ghee (घी)
- ½ tsp of cardamom powder (इलायची पाउडर)
- 1 tsp of fennel powder (सौंफ पाउडर )
- 5-6 chopped almonds (बादाम)
- 5-6 chopped cashew nuts (काजू)
- dry coconut flakes (नारियल)
Procedure:
- Turn on the gas and keep the pan on the gas.
- Boil 3 cups of water in another pan.
- Add ½ tsp of ghee. Heat the ghee.
- Add coconut flakes, chopped almonds and cashew nuts.
- Fry it on medium flame until it turns golden brown.
- Take out the fried dry fruits.
- Add 2 tbsp of ghee on a pan.
- Add broken wheat (lapsi) and fry it till golden brown on low- medium flame.
- Add 3 cups of boiled water for 1 cup of lapsi.
- Add fried dry fruits and mix it well.
- Reduce the flame.
- Cover the pan and cook it for approx. 18-20 minutes on low flame.
- Add grated jaggery, cardamom powder, fennel powder and mix it well.
- Cook lapsi until jaggery dissolves completely.
- Lapsi is ready.
- Take out the lapsi in serving bowl and garnish with some chopped almonds and cashew nuts.
Tip:-
If you like another dry fruits, you can add. Quantity of jaggery can be increased or decreased as per your taste. Lapsi can be made with jaggery as well.
