Lapsi Recipe

Ingredients- सामग्री

  • 1 cup of broken wheat (Lapsi – लापशी)
  • 1 cup of grated jaggery (गुड़)
  • 2 tbsp of ghee (घी)
  • ½ tsp of cardamom powder (इलायची पाउडर)
  • 1 tsp of fennel powder (सौंफ पाउडर )
  • 5-6 chopped almonds (बादाम)
  • 5-6 chopped cashew nuts (काजू)
  • dry coconut flakes (नारियल)

Procedure:

  1. Turn on the gas and keep the pan on the gas.
  2. Boil 3 cups of water in another pan.
  3. Add ½ tsp of ghee. Heat the ghee.
  4. Add coconut flakes, chopped almonds and cashew nuts.
  5. Fry it on medium flame until it turns golden brown.
  6. Take out the fried dry fruits.
  7. Add 2 tbsp of ghee on a pan.
  8. Add broken wheat (lapsi) and fry it till golden brown on low- medium flame.
  9. Add 3 cups of boiled water for 1 cup of lapsi.
  10. Add fried dry fruits and mix it well.
  11. Reduce the flame.
  12. Cover the pan and cook it for approx. 18-20 minutes on low flame.
  13. Add grated jaggery, cardamom powder, fennel powder and mix it well.
  14. Cook lapsi until jaggery dissolves completely.
  15. Lapsi is ready.
  16. Take out the lapsi in serving bowl and garnish with some chopped almonds and cashew nuts.

Tip:-

If you like another dry fruits, you can add. Quantity of jaggery can be increased or decreased as per your taste. Lapsi can be made with jaggery as well.
