Pav Bhaji Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 boiled potatoes
  • 1 cup of boiled cauliflower
  • ½ cup of boiled green peas
  • ½ cup of chopped green capsicum
  • 2 tbsp of grated beetroot
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 chopped tomatoes
  • ½ tsp of cumin seeds
  • 1/3 tsp of turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp of ginger and garlic paste
  • 1 tsp of red chilli powder
  • 2 tsp of pav bhaji masala
  • coriander leaves
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp of butter
  • oil

Pav bhaji is a Mumbai’s popular fast food. It’s made using boiled vegetables. Pav bhaji is very tasty, spicy and delicious recipe.

Procedure:-

  1. Smash the boiled potatoes and cauliflower and keep aside.
  2. Turn on the gas and put the pan on gas.
  3. Add 1 tbsp of butter and 1 tsp of oil in a heated pan.
  4. Add cumin seeds.
  5. Add ginger-garlic paste and mix.
  6. Cook it for 1-2 minutes on medium flame.
  7. Add chopped onion and mix it.
  8. Cook it for 2-3 minutes on medium flame (don’t overcook).
  9. Add chopped capsicum, green peas, chopped tomatoes and some salt and mix it well.
  10. Add grated beetroot and mix it.
  11. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, pav bhaji masala and mix it well.
  12. Cover the pan with lid and cook it for approx. 2-3 minutes on low flame.
  13. After 3 minutes, mix it and smash the vegetables with spoon or masher.
  14. Add smashed potatoes and cauliflower and mix it.
  15. Add salt to taste and 1 tsp of butter and mix it.
  16. Add chopped fresh coriander and mix.
  17. Add water as required and mix it well.
  18. Cover the pan with lid and cook it for approx. 5-6 minutes on low flame.
  19. After 5 minutes, open the lid and mix it well.
  20. Take out the bhaji in a serving plate or a bowl.
  21. Heat another pan and add some butter.
  22. Spread the butter all over and roast the pav / round soft roll.
  23. Take out roasted pav in a plate.
  24. Pav bhaji is ready to eat. You can eat this dish along with Lemon and garnished chopped onions.
