Pav Bhaji Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 boiled potatoes
- 1 cup of boiled cauliflower
- ½ cup of boiled green peas
- ½ cup of chopped green capsicum
- 2 tbsp of grated beetroot
- 1 chopped onion
- 2 chopped tomatoes
- ½ tsp of cumin seeds
- 1/3 tsp of turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp of ginger and garlic paste
- 1 tsp of red chilli powder
- 2 tsp of pav bhaji masala
- coriander leaves
- salt to taste
- 2 tbsp of butter
- oil
Pav bhaji is a Mumbai’s popular fast food. It’s made using boiled vegetables. Pav bhaji is very tasty, spicy and delicious recipe.
Procedure:-
- Smash the boiled potatoes and cauliflower and keep aside.
- Turn on the gas and put the pan on gas.
- Add 1 tbsp of butter and 1 tsp of oil in a heated pan.
- Add cumin seeds.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and mix.
- Cook it for 1-2 minutes on medium flame.
- Add chopped onion and mix it.
- Cook it for 2-3 minutes on medium flame (don’t overcook).
- Add chopped capsicum, green peas, chopped tomatoes and some salt and mix it well.
- Add grated beetroot and mix it.
- Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, pav bhaji masala and mix it well.
- Cover the pan with lid and cook it for approx. 2-3 minutes on low flame.
- After 3 minutes, mix it and smash the vegetables with spoon or masher.
- Add smashed potatoes and cauliflower and mix it.
- Add salt to taste and 1 tsp of butter and mix it.
- Add chopped fresh coriander and mix.
- Add water as required and mix it well.
- Cover the pan with lid and cook it for approx. 5-6 minutes on low flame.
- After 5 minutes, open the lid and mix it well.
- Take out the bhaji in a serving plate or a bowl.
- Heat another pan and add some butter.
- Spread the butter all over and roast the pav / round soft roll.
- Take out roasted pav in a plate.
- Pav bhaji is ready to eat. You can eat this dish along with Lemon and garnished chopped onions.
